What is SEO?

SEO stands for “search engine optimization.” It is the process of attracting organic or natural traffic (as opposed to traffic you get from things like pay per click) to your website. All major search engines such as Google, Yahoo and Bing look at web pages and the content (words, not pictures) and give them a rank based on what the search engine considers most relevant to users. Content is king! The more relevant content, the more likely you are to rise in the rankings and the more likely people are to find you.

I was delighted to find this video from SEO experts Matt Cutts, Tiffany Lane, Greg Grothaus and Vanessa Fox with Google. It is an hour long, but so worth watching to find out what the experts look for!
